Be warned: This office is vey STRICT, if you are not punctual DO NOT go here! You CAN NOT be more than 10 mins late, not even by 1 minute! The desk receptionist is not friendly or kind but is professional and can be nice or rude depending on if you're late, have all your paper work, have your co-pay (if applicable)and do not per the office any money! Do not be mistaken, this is a business before anything else! This is a large practice and most of your visits will be impersonal and more routine as you rotate through doctors. You can request appoints with a certain doctor if you have a preference however they recommend you see them all at least once because the delivery doctor is on call and you may get any of them so it's good to get to know them all. I thought this office was great because it looked nice, it was clean, up to date with the latest equipment & newest technology and they and they were at an easy location. I learned the hard way, they are judgmental. They lack actually caring about you, your feelings or thoughts as a person. Doctors lack showing genuine concern and they are not good about having to deal with you directly or too often. you are just another patient here, and it is just another day at work for them, MY EXSPERIENCES: My 1st pregnancy here. Dr. Levine delivered my 1st daughter. I was seen by every doctor a few times. They all seemed nice and answered my questions if I had any. The birth of my daughter was traumatic. I chose an epidural, they stuck the needle in my back in 4 different spots. No one, including my doctor checked to see if the epidural actually worked, they just assumed it worked. Dr. Levine yelled at me throughout the delivery to push my daughter out like he was scolding me. I actually felt rushed, like I was interrupting his time and doing something wrong. He used a vacumme to suction her head out and forceps to pull her head out and I felt it all. After the birth I needed to pee went to get up to use the bathroom but the nurse brought me a bed pan. I asked her why I needed it and if it was normal procedure after giving birth. She told me it was only necessary because I had an epidural and couldn't feel my legs. I told her I could feel my legs just fine and never lost feeling in them. When I showed her she looked at me shocked and exclaimed how sorry she was because the epidural didn't work for me when they thought it had. My second pregnancy was 3 yrs later. We had a consultation with Dr Mayeda who talked about the responsibilities of having a baby and continued to frown upon my pregnancy for whatever reason. I felt his judgement and was left wondering where his professionalism was. 2nd trimester I had some spotting so I called the office. He simply told me that miscarriages happen around this time and there nothing they can do to stop them so to just wait for it to occur and to call after it happened. No appointment to come in and check if that was even the case. I felt he was very unconcerned and cold hearted about it. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Before my 3rd trimester I called the office to see if it was safe for me to use prescription hydrocortisone cream or liquid medicine I had for my daughter's eczema. Nurse said she wasn't sure so she would find out and call me back. 5 mins later Dr Mayeda calls me back asking what's wrong? I start to tell him the issue but before I can ask about the cream or liquid medicine he yells at me "didn't the nurse tell you what to do?!" I said "yes but..." He cut me off again yelling "I am with my wife and kids! Im at home trying to have dinner with my family and I have to leave the table to call you so you can ask me the same you asked the nurse after she already told you what to do?! Paging me is for emergencies and this is not an emergency...." I hung up. 9 am next morning I called a different OBGYN, made an appointment, had all my records transferd and left Shoreline for good.
